Position Overview
We are looking for experienced, multifamily Project Architects to work on a variety of housing projects from conceptual design to construction while also balancing the technical requirements of wood frame construction with the design vision. In this role you will collaborate with Principals and the project team, leading the project through design, documentation and into construction. Additionally, you will guide and mentor staff and manage key relationships with clients, contractors, engineers, and consultants.
 
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership and Management

  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure timely execution and project profitability.
  • Evaluate team’s skills and capabilities to assign and organize responsibilities, tasks to streamline processes and meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate with the client, contractors, and consultants to ensure that project requirements are met.
  • Navigate and resolve any technical, logistical, and client-based needs.

Team Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Oversee and mentor junior staff and designers, and provide guidance on technical details, codes, and specifications.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment, with open communication, and teamwork.
  • Review and provide feedback on the work of the project team members, to assist in their growth and ensure the design and technical standards are upheld.

Design and Technical Expertise

  • Lead the project team on the development of innovative and efficient architectural designs that align with the client’s needs, vision, and budget.
  • Prepare and review design presentations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure that all architectural drawings and documents meet technical and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with engineers to integrate all systems and materials effectively into the project.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, construction techniques, and architectural trends

Quality Control and Construction:

  • Organize and schedules Project QA/QC and incorporate comments.
  • Provides Technical and design support during construction administration and construction processes meet high standards of quality, safety, and performance.
  • Conducts on-site observations and documents site reports.
  • Processes submittals, RFI’s, substitution requests, etc.
  • Identify and resolve issues or challenges that arise during the design and construction phases, including changes in scope or unforeseen technical challenges.

Qualifications:
Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture
  • Current Licensed Architect (MA Preferred)

Experience

  • 5-15 years of experience in architectural design, with a proven track record of successfully leading multifamily and mixed-use projects.
  • Project experience in mid-to-large multifamily projects, with a technical background in Type III and V construction. Additional experience in mixed-use and hospitality a plus.
  • High proficiency in Revit with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to guide clients and stakeholders to make key decisions.
