We are currently working primarily on high-end residential, design-intensive, ground-up projects in the tri-state area. Our approach is characterized by creative, pragmatic responsiveness. We engage in detailed explorations and thorough investigation of site specifics and client needs, leading to solutions that are organic, apt, and true to their context. Every project, whether it's architecture, interiors, furniture, or landscape, is meticulously guided from concept to completion, weaving together aesthetics, context, budget, program, materials, technology, and construction techniques.

The Role:

As a Designer / Senior Designer at RYA,  you'll contribute to all aspects of projects from conception through owner move in. Designers are assigned tasks and manage project scope independently and under the direction of Project Managers through all phases of design and construction. We're seeking someone who embodies these qualities:

  • Professionalism: You can confidently interact with contractors and subcontractors, balancing openness and authority.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates should have:

  • 5-8+ years of post-graduate professional experience, preferably with recent involvement in small to medium-sized firms specializing in private residential projects.

  • Professional degree in Architecture from a US-accredited school.

  • Licensure in architecture is a plus or be on track for licensure

  • Construction Document & Construction Administration Phase experience generating construction details and assembling drawings sets for construction

  • Project Team Experience, Comfortable managing large portions of a project scope in an independent fashion with Project management oversight.

  • Proficiency with Revit & AutoCAD, Rhino or SketchUp, Enscape, Adobe Suite and Google Workspace. Asana, Smartsheets and Monograph are a plus. 

  • Applicants must currently reside in the New York City metro area and have a US work visa and fluent English.

  • Compensation commensurate with experience
