Company

As a full service design-build company, North River has a mission to bring to market Net Zero and Certified Passive House homes in the Hudson Valley. Our work can range from full custom designed home concepts to modifications on our suite of Flexhouse offerings. North River Design Build focuses on bringing these homes from our designs to turnkey client services.

Role

North River is seeking an in-person full-time architectural project manager to join our team starting immediately. As a benefit of working in a smaller firm, the daily work will consist of assisting in all phases of architectural design and production and management of construction documents, construction phase services, material sourcing and specifications, budgeting, presentations and general project support. Additionally, as a firm, we offer design and construction services, which means that employees can intimately see the process from parti and sketch to final construction.

Our ideal fit for this role would be someone who brings confidence to the role and has a few years of in-practice experience, though licensure is certainly not a requirement. Excellent AutoCAD drafting abilities and Sketchup 3D modeling skills are a must. Candidates must be highly motivated and a quick learner, and should be knowledgeable about or eager to learn about sustainable architecture and construction. The ideal candidate should have a passion for architectural design and desire to learn and grow in a small firm in which they can contribute to all aspects of a project. Candidates must be responsible, organized, punctual, reliable, and have strong communication skills.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • B. Arch or M.Arch Professional Degree
  • This position requires a few years of in-field experience
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, including XRef management, construction drawing preparation, and design detailing
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Photoshop, Adobe Suite and Mac software
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Team-oriented attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and workload
  • Valid US driver’s license

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with structural and mechanical engineers
  • On-site construction services experience

Compensation Structure

Salary:

Beginning  immediately, the position would be offered with a salary of $65,000 - $85,000/year with an assumed forty hour work week. This is variable depending on experience.

Benefit Package:

North River offers a benefit package that includes $650/mo. towards premium costs for individuals or families health insurance, dental, vision and fully covered AllyHealth Telemedicine. In addition, we offer eight paid holidays, five paid sick days, and ten paid vacation days. This position includes a 401k, with a contribution of 3% of salary by North River, after one year of employment.
