Strada, a multi-disciplinary design firm, has an opening for a senior licensed architect in our Chapel Hill studio.

We are seeking a talented architect with a broad range of leadership capabilities interested in the opportunities presented by a growing studio that is part of a larger, regional design firm.

Our cross-disciplinary approach to design is immersive, human-centric, and diverse. We actively leverage the expertise and talents from the variety of disciplines within our three studios to achieve exceptional results for our clients. Candidates should be willing to learn and contribute to the design process.  We look for individuals who are talented and passionate about their work.  We help you cultivate your talents as part of the design team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary project teams and consultants in a highly collaborative environment
• Effectively manage projects including design, schedule, budget, and contract compliance
• Mentor team members to ensure their professional growth
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Strategize with other studio leaders and firm Principals in developing new business opportunities

Required Skills and Abilities

• Project management experience
• Strong design sensitivity
• Good judgment skills
• Ability to think creatively and strategically
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Working knowledge of construction roles and responsibilities for various delivery methods
• Understanding of liabilities, risks, and responsibilities related to professional practice
• Facility for working in digital design software

Additional

• Must be licensed to practice architecture in North Carolina
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in a design firm
• Experience at managing in-house multi-disciplinary design teams a plus
• Sustainable design experience and/or certifications a plus
