The Position:
We seek a smart, enthusiastic, intellectually curious, responsible, and committed individual to assist teams during all phases of work at MKThink. The candidate must be self-motivated, an inquisitive person with excellent time management and organizational skills is needed. This position is full-time, with full benefits, and based in our San Francisco office on the beautiful Great Highway with spectacular ocean views.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Urban Design: Develop comprehensive urban plans, zoning regulations, and land use proposals. Integrate sustainable practices into urban design and planning projects.
  • Conceptual Drawings & Renderings: Create detailed drawings, renderings, and visualizations to illustrate proposed urban layouts, streetscapes, parks, and other public spaces. Ensure designs are visually appealing, functional, and adhere to project requirements.
  • Site Analysis & Research: Conduct site analysis and research to assess land use, zoning regulations, environmental impact, and community needs. Use this data to inform planning and design decisions
  • Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, landscape architects, and other professionals to ensure cohesive and integrated urban planning solutions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all planning and design work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following abilities:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in urban planning or a related field with US firms

SKILLS:

  • Strong graphic/visual/design presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of urban design principles, zoning regulations, and environmental sustainability
  • Exceptional drawing, sketching, and rendering skills; proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Revit, Twinmotion, Unreal, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas through visual and verbal means
  • Ability to participate in the development of 3D modeling of projects
  • Prepare various design communication and presentation materials, including sketches, rendered 2D & 3D drawings, rendered perspectives, slide shows, and material selection boards
  • Ability to collaborate and participate in team environments
