Position Overview: 

The Architectural Designer is responsible for performing design tasks during all phases of the design and construction process, across a variety of project scopes and scales. This role will create functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing spaces by assessing space requirements, determining optimal furniture placement, and selecting decorative items, all while adhering to relevant construction and permit drawings, building code, and inspection requirements.  This role will work with both internal and external stakeholders and provide support to existing and new clinics.  

Location: 

Our ideal candidate will be located in the Greater Seattle area, but other locations will be considered. This role will be primarily remote with frequent travel (approximately 25%) will be required. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed 

  • Prepare and coordinate design solutions and construction documents, specifications, cost estimates and related documentation 

  • Analyzes movement and use patterns of the space 

  • Prepare sketches or other visual aids to demonstrate preliminary designs to stakeholders 

  • Consult with stakeholders to select materials, furnishings, and décor 

  • Develop design concepts into drafted architectural drawings 

  • Determine timelines and project costs and present accurate estimates to stakeholders 

  • Organize and manage architectural drawings and/or interior design packages 

  • Order/obtain necessary materials (i.e. signage, art, FFE, etc.), adhering to project and budget specifications 

  • Oversee the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements 

  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by visiting the project to ensure project delivery of space meets deadlines and expectations  

  • Maintain current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design 

  • Permit assistance and coordination 

  • Manage project tracking and assist with development of design standards packages 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

  • Frequent travel required

What You’ll Bring: 

  • A degree in Interior Design or a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program or university is required 

  • 3+ years of experience in design or architecture required, 5+ years of experience preferred; experience in interior or commercial architecture strongly desired 

  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors 

  • Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others 

  • Proficient in computer-aided design software including CAD, Revit and SketchUp 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of building codes and jurisdictions  

Physical Requirements:   

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer   

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times 

  • Occasionally stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, knee, crouch or crawl, talk and hear   

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $100,000 

*Compensation will be determined based on a candidate's skills, experience, location, etc.
