Heather Young Architects is a small firm of 12 located in Palo Alto, California. Our portfolio includes commercial, mixed-use, multi-family, and residential projects. We're looking for a Job Captain / Arch1 to primarily support our Residential Projects but may also work on other project types. Please visit our website at www.hyarchs.com.

JOB TITLE: Job Captain / Architect

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to independently identify design issues and offer original design solutions
  • Lead project team in developing documentation through all phases of project
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractor, and owner
  • Able to respond to RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 3-6 years of experience in commercial and single-family residential architecture
  • B Arch or M Arch degree from a NAAB accredited architecture program
  • Be licensed or in a licensure track
  • Strong design and project management skills
  • Fluent in several software programs, ArchiCAD (preferred)
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Strong graphically with an ability to express ideas through hand sketching
