DSEA is an established boutique firm located next to the historic plaza in Old Towne Orange. We work with a variety of project types including childcare centers, private schools and educational buildings, hospitality, retail and commercial centers, senior housing, and single and multi-family residences and developments. We also have decades of expertise in historic preservation, and the repurposing of existing buildings. We utilize BIM through 3D modeling software on our projects from start to finish which allows us to ensure an exceptionally high level of accuracy and thorough documentation of our designs.

As a result, our designs range from modernism to contemporary influences to historic preservation in solving functional programmatic needs with the appropriate solutions.

We are seeking energetic, goal-driven candidates to join our team. Individuals need to be eager and willing to take on the many roles and responsibilities that boutique firms demand and be able to work collaboratively through all phases of our projects. Interested candidates must have at a minimum the following:

DSEA (DSE architecture, Inc.) is seeking a Job Captain with a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction document preparation on commercial, retail, school and residential.  DSEA specializes in needs analysis, planning, design, construction document preparation and construction project management of educational, commercial, institutional, and residential projects.  We have projects on-the-boards right now and are looking for the right fit to integrate with our team. 

The Job Captain assists the Project Manager, Project Architect and Principal in the production of multiple architectural projects with the following responsibilities and qualifications:

Responsibilities

  • Development of design documents including 3D modeling.
  • Development of detailed construction documents.
  • Coordination with DSEA personnel in the development of projects.
  • Assist the Project Manager in coordination with consultants.
  • Process projects through agency approvals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture minimum preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years construction document production experience
  • 5-7 years minimum working in an architecture firm preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with current edition of CBC and accessibility requirements.
  • Strong CAD skills (ArchiCAD experience preferred or Revit/AutoCAD)
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.

Salary range is $60,000 - $75,000 and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
