Overview: 

OLIN is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join our Philadelphia team. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will bring your energy, flexibility, creativity, and eye for detail to a highly collaborative team dedicated to promoting the OLIN brand and supporting our communications and business development goals. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of experience in a professional marketing or administrative position with social media responsibilities and is a self-starter, a skilled writer/editor, and an enthusiastic learner and collaborator. Working under the direction and guidance of OLIN’s Communications Manager, you will work directly with OLIN’s Partners and Associates, the Communications Team, and design staff of all levels to develop winning proposals, award submissions, and other metrics for OLIN’s website and social media channels. You will use your writing, time management, and organizational skills to maintain and build OLIN’s content library, including project descriptions, staff resumes, project metrics, and branded copy. You will also be an integral team member in the conceptualizing and implementation of engaging communications campaigns to support and celebrate the OLIN brand. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generation and regular upkeep of standard and targeted branded collateral developed within the Communications Department, including but not limited to proposals, brochures, presentations, project descriptions, staff resumes, advertisements, and digital campaigns, with direction and input from the Communications Manager, Partners, and senior design staff, and in collaboration with the Visual Communications Manager and Graphic Design Team

  • Collaboration under the direction of the Communications Manager on proposals, particularly in the generation/curation of tailored qualification materials and coordination with external consultants

  • Discovering and tracking new project leads and requests for proposals and qualifications

  • Initial intake of new project leads and generation of summary reports for review/decision-making by OLIN’s Partner Group

  • In collaboration with the Graphic Design team, regular upkeep and updating of OLIN’s website, including the news page, project pages, personnel pages, awards, and publications

  • Scheduling, production, and tracking of content for OLIN’s social media accounts: Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook

  • Regular upkeep of OLIN’s Promotions and Project Information databases

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or other related field of study 

  • 2-5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced marketing or communications role

  • Experience working in an architecture, engineering, or design office is a plus

  • Experience in the design services procurement process responding to RFQs and RFPs is a plus

  • Superior writing and editing skills, including ability to craft a story or technical narrative in a compelling manner and to edit collaboratively written content for a consistent voice

  • Experience in collaborating with a team on complex, deadline-driven projects, maintaining a constant attention to detail

  • Experience in managing social media accounts and curating an engaging, professional voice

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat (familiarity with the rest of Adobe's Creative Suite a plus); proficiency in Google document sharing is a plus

  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills and enthusiasm

  • Note: OLIN is a creative practice, and writing skills are of paramount importance to the marketing coordinator position which includes both original writing and regularly proofing/editing plus summarizing/paraphrasing of others’ writing. At present, OLIN does not use AI in our writing. In order to assess candidates’ writing skills, we would expect any writing samples to represent original work, not work created through AI assistance.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 / year, commensurate with experience. Travel: While travel is not a prerequisite expectation for the Marketing Coordinator, you may be presented with opportunities as you grow in the position to visit project sites, attend conferences, and spend time in OLIN’s Los Angeles office.

Remote vs. In-Office Work: OLIN is a studio environment that directly benefits from all our staff coming together and collaborating in-person. We do offer the flexibility and technology to support remote work from home, during travel, etc. Currently, all employees are offered the flexibility to work from home on Fridays and are otherwise expected to work in the office Mondays through Thursdays, though this is subject to change. Occasionally it will be necessary to be in person in the office on a Friday.
