Project Designer

KFA is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and critical thinkers to join our collaborative design practice as a Project Designer.  

Mission: KFA reshapes LA by designing great places where people flourish.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for initiating and coordinating project design vision;

  • Develop multiple design options through an iterative and collaborative design process; working independently or with a team;

  • Act as steward of the design throughout all phases of the project;

  • Prepare design presentations and packages for client and community meetings;

  • Receive and implement design critique feedback from clients and team members.

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Five to ten years of experience;

  • Licensure preferred but not required;

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program

  • Strong design intuition and ability to provide design critique

  • Knowledge of Types I, III, & V construction including mixed-use, community and residential projects;

  • Proficiency in  Sketchup or Rhino, Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) preferred;

  • Working knowledge of building codes, industry standards, building construction

  • Ability to manage and mentor junior staff

  • Excellent communication and graphic skills
