Archipelago Workshop is a full-service, award-winning architectural studio founded in 2003 with residential and landscape design projects in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties. Like the island chains for which we are named, our projects are individually distinct but part of a greater whole in which built spaces – and those who live in them – connect organically with the natural world.

We are seeking an Architect – Junior Production Manager to join our team who brings curiosity, initiative and a holistic approach to all aspects of the design process. This is a full-time position for a designer with 1-3 years of experience and a degree in architecture or urban design. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the firm's principal architects and support all pre-construction phases of the architectural process, with primary responsibility for production documentation.

 Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture or urban design
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency with CAD drafting and the operation of pencils and pens
  • Ability to assemble and manage a complete construction document set

  •  ARCHICAD® experience
  • Experience with plan submittal and plan check corrections
  • Strong graphic skills and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Passion for craftsmanship and a delight in things made by hand

 Salary and Benefits

  •  Range $64,000 - $74,000 annually; final salary decisions will be made based on the extent and relevance of the candidate’s education and experience
  • On-site in Ventura, CA with possibility to transition to hybrid on-site/remote work as experience is gained
