Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Job Captain skilled in Revit to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and supporting architectural projects from concept design to completion. You will oversee a Design Associate, collaborate with consultants, design teams, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery while utilizing your expertise in Revit to produce high-quality design and construction documents. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Manager with architectural projects, including coordinating and overseeing all project phases from concept design to construction administration and drawings

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants and internal team to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints

  • Prepare, draft and develop architectural designs, construction documents, and specifications using Revit software

  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards throughout the project lifecycle

  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, review construction quality, and address any design-related issues

  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, and subcontractors, to maintain project schedules and budgets

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design associate

  • Collaborate with the design associate to develop innovative design solutions and resolve design challenges

  • Stay updated with industry trends, advancements in architectural technology, and best practices, particularly in Revit software

 Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience drafting in Revit is a must have

  • BA or MA in Architecture or a related field is desired

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Job Captain in an architectural firm, construction company or similar

  • Solid understanding of architectural design principles, building and zoning codes, and construction standards

  • Knowledge of local codes (city of Pasadena included)

  • Support PM with city and other government agency permitting processes

  • Ability to read and understand structural plans/details, and be able to coordinate with the architectural design

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and allocate resources effectively

  • Experience working in residential construction is nice to have, but not required

  • Proficient in Lumion, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar design software preferred

  • Architectural license is a big plus, but not required

  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships with clients and colleagues

This position will work onsite full time in the La Canada Flintridge, CA area with frequent local travel to job sites across the Los Angeles metro area on a daily basis. There is no remote or hybrid option and no relocation is offered for this position.
