k-da is a boutique architecture and interior design firm based in DUMBO, Brooklyn. We specialize in contemporary high-end residential projects primarily located in New York City and surrounding areas.
The Position
We are looking for a Junior Designer to join our team!
As a member of our creative, hard-working team, you will contribute to all phases of project development, from conception through construction administration. As a Junior Designer, you'll work on multiple projects simultaneously, helping with design, documentation, and construction administration. We offer a broad range of experiences and the opportunity to be part of a small, collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Work with material palettes and development of interior designs;
Collaborate on the development of architectural design concepts and presentations;
Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings and renderings;
Develop design, approval, and construction documents;
Manage project schedules and specifications;
Coordinate, purchase, and procure materials, fixtures, and finishes for projects;
Attend project meetings and presentations as required;
Collaborate on project development and execution;
Prioritize, execute, and track tasks across multiple projects, adhering to rigorous timelines;
Display commitment to personal, professional, and firm growth; we are looking for an active contributor to help us grow the firm;
Qualifications
1-3 years of professional experience in an architecture/interior design firm;
Interest in interior design and materiality;
Professional architecture or interior design degree (or commensurate experience) is preferred;
Construction documents experience is preferred;
Experience in Vectorworks is a plus (not required);
Experience with Lumion is a plus (not required);
Proficient in English, both verbal and written;
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor visas.
Salary Range
$45,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.
Work Culture and Benefits
This is an in-person position, and applicants must be able to commute to the office. We typically work from home 1 to 2 days per week (as the work and weather allow.)
