Interior Design Studio is seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer with experience in high-end residential design.

Our studio specializes in high-end residential and new construction, augmented with some residential renovation and commercial design. We are a full-service interior design firm in Costa Mesa CA that creates personal and luxurious spaces that embodies the belief that a home should be the perfect backdrop for the life lived inside. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented, and well-rounded Senior Interior Designer to join a collaborative, passionate, and talented design team creating luxurious spaces for our clients. A full-time management position for an experienced, hands-on, positive and reliable Interior Designer to collaborate directly with the firm’s principal on all aspects of design and project management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include but are not limited to:

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple deadlines, project scopes and aesthetics simultaneously.
  • Coordinate client’s interior design monthly service invoices
  • Manage accurate and timely client’s order and purchase order pricing data in Studio Designer Program as needed.

Business Development:

  • Assist with photoshoot coordination, sourcing, styling and onsite facilitation.
  • Utilize detailed knowledge of trade resources and vendors.
  • Maintain existing and growing new vendor contacts and relationships.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows and openings.

Client Management:

  • To attend client meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Responsible for approval of client’s orders, package pricing submission and vendor’s purchase order paperwork prior submission.
  • Oversee project installation scheduling and coordination.
  • Oversee accurate and within-budget design time hours for self and project team.
  • Maintain and grow thoughtful professional relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Create solutions and communicate with clients and colleagues in a timely manner and in the spirit of the firm’s mission and values.

Design:

  • Research and develop furniture plans, custom furnishing designs and material schemes that match the client's aesthetic, functional goals and budget.
  • Assist Principal on the design and development of all projects; create drawings, boards, fabric schemes and any relevant items for client’s presentations.
  • Seamlessly collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects
  • Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers and interior finishes within project budget and aesthetic
  • Oversee Design Assistant’s timely and accurate vendor quote process.
  • Create and maintain project budgets.
  • Manage item specifications and construction schedules with accurate product information for all furniture, plumbing, appliances, lighting and finishes.
  • Coordinate vendor and installer’s site visits, workroom visits, and in-person meetings to ensure successful project deliverables.
  • Ensure the project’s picture book is updated with all item tear sheets, customization notes, specifications and drawings.
  • Collaborated with Design Assistant to manage procurement process (vendor to third party warehouse), adhering to project deadlines.
  • Work with Design Assistant, Drafting Assistant and Interns to ensure all design hours are within billable quotes.
  • Oversee and perform all design services at the task level from initial design through completion of construction to provide design continuity including procurement to installation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Interior Design.
  • Minimum of 8 years interior design experience, with 2+ years as a Senior Designer.
  • Understanding of architectural plans, construction, materials, and methods.
  • Detail-oriented, with extensive experience in selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, artworks, materials, and finishes.
  • Experience with managing purchasing and budgets.
  • High-end residential estate experience, with the ability to provide top-level innovative design concepts.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including space planning, hand and digital drafting.
  • Ability to create and develop conceptual designs, including the ability to create concepts and mood boards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator, Studio Designer, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with creating construction documents.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a strong management background, capable of supervising and directing associates with minimal oversight.
  • Professional verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to daily needs with a positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, identifying possible solutions and planning action.
  • Current driver's license with reliable transportation is required.
