Job Title: Junior Architect or Architecture Associate - Public Bid and Diverse Projects

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Junior Architect or Architecture Associate to join our team, specializing in public bid projects with a primary focus on schools and municipal contracts. This role will also involve contributing to various architecture-related projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD, project specification writing, organizational skills, and a proactive, self-sufficient work ethic are crucial. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking hands-on experience and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

1. AutoCAD Proficiency:

  • Utilize AutoCAD to create accurate and detailed architectural drawings for various project phases.
  • Collaborate with the design team to contribute to the development and refinement of architectural plans, and project details.

2. Project Specifications:

  • Support and independently draft, review, and write project specifications, ensuring alignment with design intent, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Familiarities with code is a plus.
  • Regularly update specifications to reflect project changes and updates.

3. Self-Sufficiency and Proactivity:

  • Demonstrate a self-sufficient and proactive approach to work, taking initiative in addressing challenges and seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Exhibit a continuous learning mindset, staying updated on industry trends, regulations, and technologies.

4. Organizational Skills:

  • Manage project documentation, drawings, and specifications efficiently to ensure a well-organized workflow.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules and deadlines.

5. Bid Process Support:

  • Participate in the preparation of bid documents and gain exposure to the bidding process for public projects.
  • Learn to address bidder inquiries and provide basic clarifications.

6. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Gain knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations affecting public bid projects and ensure designs adhere to these requirements.

7. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Learn to effectively communicate with design team, clients, consultants, and contractors to support project delivery.

8. Job Trial Period:

  • A trial period will be provided to assess the candidate's ability to adapt, collaborate, and contribute to out current design projects.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support for ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture on track to licensure.
  2. Proficiency in AutoCAD and proven experience in architectural drafting.
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to write comprehensive project specifications.
  5. Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  6. Proactive and self-sufficient work ethic as well as ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment.
  7. Familiarity with public bid processes, schools, and municipal contracts is a plus.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
