Studio West Design & Architecture is a New Orleans-based architecture and interior design firm of ten architects and designers focused on historic renovation and new construction. The studio’s projects include commercial, hospitality and educational projects, along with a small number of residential projects. 

We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate for the position of 8+ year Architect to join our highly collaborative studio. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for architecture and design, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Collaborate with studio members in development of design focused projects through completion of construction for multiple projects
  • Responsible for execution of project working directly with Principals.

Experience :

  • Professional Architectural degree
  • 8+ years of professional experience post college graduation in architectural professional setting.
  • Licensed Architect preferred but not required.
  • Other professional certifications are assets, but not required

Work Hours and Benefits:

Employment will be 40 hours per week with office hours from 9 am to 6 pm. Studio West offers a full benefits package including medical, dental and vision insurance; optional participation in firm-sponsored SIMPLE IRA plan; ten annual paid holidays; ten annual vacation days, increasing to 15 days after five years of employment; five annual sick days. The firm fully pays for long-term and short-term disability benefits.

Essential Skills:

  •  Strong design and idea origination skills and visual communication skills. 
  • Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings, 3D models, and other documents relating to design documentation
  • Required Software Proficiency: Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite, and Office Suite.
  • Experience producing architectural drawing sets.
  • Experience in construction administration.
  • Experience working in historic renovation, adaptive reuse is preferred, but not required.
  • Self-starter with good organization and management skills
  • Detail oriented and thorough
  • Interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal team and external parties
