The position of a part-time Operations Associate at Office Of: Office is for an individual who wishes to gain practical experience in nonprofit systems, community development, and design. This job will provide an in depth view of our work from cross sector collaborations, meeting with local and national organizations in the housing justice space, and intensive practice in nonprofit management. 

WHO WE ARE

Office Of: Office is a minority and women-led urban planning and architecture organization that designs policy, projects, and programs for equitable city growth. Our projects are local, regional, and national - often taking the form of policy & planning efforts that resolve in architectural projects that we manage and lead. 

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Operations Associate will help us with the day-to-day work of our office and long-term vision of growth. Non-profit, operations, or business experience is a plus, but not required. The position of Operations Associate reports to the Directors, collaborates with the team, and leads initiatives within the office. The ideal candidate for this entry level position should be self-motivated, detail oriented, and technologically proficient. The position is part-time, four days/32 hours per week with a salary range of $21 - $24/hr, depending on experience. Applicants should preferably be LA-based. We work primarily remote, but gather for in-person meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College or advanced degree and/or comparable work experience 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Database management 

  • Understand budgets & financial management processes (non-profit management a plus) 

  • Expert in QuickBooks, Google Docs, Spreadsheets

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bookkeeping - monitoring account balances, cash flow projections, and accounts payable 

  • Work with our CPA to prepare documents for financial audits

  • Coordinate  internal day-to-day systems including administrative, financial, board governance, development, and project support, contract agreements and invoicing
