Project Architect

Nistenhaus Design is a boutique residential interiors firm that focuses on turn key design, from start to finish. We our looking for a Registered Architect, with a minimum of 5-10 years related experience, to collaborate and build out our design studio to better fit our clients growing architectural needs. We want to carry forward the philosophies that have made us unique in the market, but also craft a specific industry approach to architecture and construction that will set us apart and allow us to move into the development that our region so desperately needs (and wants).

We are looking for a partner in this process who shares the passion for our vision and the commitment to our approach who can also grow with us, and help further expand our studio in the coming years.

Our studio's mission and commitment to design is founded in the belief that design is collaborative amongst all participants in the process. A project cannot exist without an end client who desires a cohesive message that starts with the architectural and interior design at the forefront. Those inputs must respect and understand that the final designs will need to be constructed and completed by skilled trades who will require detailed explanation of how to accomplish it to plan. All of these partners must contribute and assist in making the project work and perform as intended, and then strive to display and market that product to further expand or branding and company goals.

Our company is still in its formative years and while we do have many processes in place for success, we are still formulating and acquiring data for what the best practices are to facilitate our unique approach for the market. We want our whole team to help guide that process and contribute to a crafted system that allow for a more curated product at delivery. Every project is unique, and should be treated that way, but steps for successful completion of these projects should be consistent and efficient to replicate for everyone in our team.

The position will be in support of multiple sectors including senior living, industrial and multi-family housing and will work in all phases of project development.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience with full scale construction planning and documentation, in residential (and possibly commercial) applications
  • Self-motivation with calm collected energy
  • Talent and passion for completing goals
  • Ability to foster team building and growth
  • Responsive and dependable in meeting deadlines
  • Organizational skills and the ability to help set expectations and delegations of tasks
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Fluency in Autocad (must), proficiency in Autodesk Revit would be a plus. Google Sketch Up is currently a preferred method by our team*

We provide a well rounded benefits package, and can discuss individual goals for wealth management strategy for 401k and retirement, as well as supplements for CEUs.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and portfolio/samples of work in PDF/JPG format to Michael Wyrock, Owner and Lead Designer,
