Overview
The School of Architecture and Design at New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) invites applications for the position of Robotics Fabrication Lab Manager. Based on Long Island, the Manager will be serving both the New York City and Long Island (Old Westbury) campus locations.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in architecture or a related field and significant experience in fabrication in an academic and/or professional setting.
Experience operating three or more of the following digital fabrication systems: Robots, 3D printing, CNC milling, laser cutting, and vacuum forming.
Experience with CAD/CAM programming; Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator.
Experience using, installing, and maintaining software for 3D modeling, CNC, and/or Arduino systems is also beneficial.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials.
Flexible schedule with ability to work nights and weekends.
Ability to assist students working in an interdisciplinary manner from concept to fabrication.
