OCA is looking for a self-motivated Project Architect with 6+ years of experience. The successful candidate will work closely with project team members and principals to understand project requirements and execute quality design projects. The Project Architect will lead specific technical design aspects of assigned projects including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions. This position is a hands-on, in-office position.
Duties
Generates project construction documents including plans, sections, details, and project manuals
Collaborates with leads to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations
Leads day-to-day construction administration activities, including coordination with internal teams, clients, and consultants to maintain project progress
Explores innovative design concepts and solutions
Prepares and presents design drawings and assists in presentations both internally and externally (to clients, and to review organizations)
Participates in the preparation of presentations, designs, drawings, and details
Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions
Performs additional duties and/or assists with other projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field is required.
State of New Jersey or New York Licensure is preferred but not required.
Must have 6+ years of experience in design and construction document preparation.
Strong management, organizational, and interpersonal skills and experience coordinating with architectural teams, clients, consultants, and contractors
Solid understanding of construction details, methods, and materials.
Proficiency in Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Enscape, and REVIT is a MUST.
LEED accreditation and/or familiarity with Green Building Design requirements are a plus
Self-motivated, organized, and flexible
Strong design sensibility
Strong communication and presentation abilities
Willingness to learn and take directions from senior staff
Must be authorized to work in the U.S without visa restrictions
