Project Architect--As a Project Architect at West of West you will develop and manage design-driven architectural projects in all phases from our Portland studio. 

You will participate in and oversee the architectural aspects of a project in all phases while managing project workflows. You should be intimately familiar with the needs of multifamily residential projects including zoning and building codes, permitting, detailing, and working drawings, and you should have successfully performed this role in the past.

What you’ll do:

  • Steward our projects from concept to completion, including leadership and management of project design, drawings, and deliverables
  • Provide technical guidance on a wide range of topics including code analysis, constructability, and detailing. 
  • Mentoring junior team
  • Consultant coordination 
  • Construction Administration and project close-out
  • Production of drawing sets in all project phases

What you’ll bring:

  • 8 years minimum experience in all aspects of architectural professional services
  • Rigorous technical understanding paired with strong design and aesthetic sensibilities
  • Direct experience with local AHJ is required
  • A documented history with working drawings and knowledge of SD-CA phases
  • Architecture licensure in Oregon preferred
  • Expert Revit skills
  • B. Arch or M. Arch degree
  • Organized with strong critical thinking and written and oral communication skills
  • Independence and responsibility with a strong, self-motivated work ethic and commitment to design
