DVLPR is seeking, for immediate hire, a motivated New York based architect with experience in ground-up construction. The ideal candidate should also be interested in innovative and concept-driven solutions and working in a small growing studio. Projects range from cultural buildings and projects to a remote private residence.

To help with a remote ground up sustainable house and other projects, we are looking for an architect with experience in all phases to assist in the design, development, and production of all necessary documents, drawings, models, and images related to the architectural process. The ideal candidate should be interested in joining a small firm and participating in its growth.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in both schematic and design development phases, working on presentation drawings and renderings, as well as putting together architectural sets. Good drafting ability and strong 3D modeling talent with the ability to produce well-lit crisp working renderings and diagrams to aid in project review and development is a plus.

Exceptional candidates with varying levels of experience will be considered. Hybrid / in-person and remote work can be considered.


·       Professional or Graduate Degree in Architecture

·       3-5+ years of experience working in an architecture office

·       Strong conceptual, graphic, and design skills illustrated in a comprehensive portfolio

·       Strong AutoCAD, 3D Max, Rhino, Adobe Suite skills

·       Strong rendering skills, preferably Vray

·       Experience working on complex projects in all phases

·       Confidence working collaboratively in a dynamic, international environment

·       Fluency in spoken and written English

·       Ability to assist in the production and development of all necessary documents, drawings, models, images, schemes etc. related to the design and building process

·       Experience of working in construction documentation phases, (technical) detailing, project related material research, and complex problem solving on all scales

·       Fundamental understanding of the design process and the ability to create great architectural designs and translate these into a real building projects

·       Ability to liaise with consultants to assess design solutions and guarantee the integrity of the final design

·       Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team

·       Licensed to practice architecture in the US (or in the process of licensure) is a plus

DVLPR (pronounced developer) is a design studio committed to a proactive role for architectural practice. The studio’s portfolio encompasses a wide range of cultural, residential, and commercial projects including exhibition design, support for artists, scenography, and activism. For several years, culminating in 2022, the studio worked in close collaboration with Sub in Berlin on the worldwide rebranding of Balenciaga's architectural campaign and scenography for Paris fashion week. DVLPR works regularly at the intersection of art and architecture and has realized significant cultural projects with artists and institutions such as Kevin Beasley at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Cady Noland at the Museum für Moderne Kunst. Most recently, the studio has completed a major commission with artist Timur Si-Qin at the newly opened Meta headquarters in New York.
