Blanco Architecture is an architectural firm specializing in building envelope consulting. Our office assists design professionals in developing details and building systems that enhance the performance of the building. While we are an architectural technology firm and not a design firm, our expertise helps preserve the architect’s design vision while providing durability and longevity to the building project. 

We consult on new and existing buildings, private residences, multi-family properties and civic buildings. The firm operates primarily in California, but we also work on projects in other locations. Our office is in San Rafael, California.

BAI is currently seeking a Project Architect, Project Engineer or Project Manager for an immediate permanent position. Applicants must have a background in architecture or engineering. Construction experience is also preferred.


  • 3-10 years experience.
  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in architecture, engineering or an associated field is preferred.
  • Building envelope, roofing, waterproofing, renovation & restoration expertise.
  • Understanding of building systems, construction materials and methodology.
  • Technical architecture expertise.
  • Experience producing construction drawings in both CAD and by hand.
  • Experience with building codes and regulations.
  • Writing coherent technical reports.
  • Experience in construction - professional or personal - preferred.
  • Strong problem solving skills are extremely helpful.
  • A valid driver’s license and vehicle, frequent site visits are common.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds.
  • Experience with Mac computers and word processing software is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in the USA.


The Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing several projects. Primary duties include on-going communication with clients, architects, consultants, contractors and subcontractors. The project manager is also responsible for construction administration during the construction phase. Essential duties include keeping the client and team apprised of project progress and maintaining contact with other key project individuals for clarification, coordination and negotiation of critical issues. The Project Manager is also responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships with consultants and clients. Technical responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting in the development of design solutions specific to building envelope issues.
  • Coordinating with staff and clients, contract document preparation, writing technical reports, peer reviewing drawings, product and systems selections and recommendations, and litigation support.
  • Site investigation and testing, water intrusion and fenestration testing, site survey work and data collection.
