Position Summary: 

The Construction Project Manager oversees a variety of real estate projects across our multiple brands throughout North America. The position is based in Los Angeles; however, the role will work with internal and external stakeholders, leading the team through planning, design, and construction.  The Construction Project Manager will report into our Senior Director of Architecture and Construction.   

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Guide assigned real estate projects through planning, design, permitting, construction, occupancy, and grand opening. 

  • Establish, track, and maintain realistic project budgets and schedules. 

  • Orchestrate communication between internal and external team members, including designers, architects, engineers, general contractors, manufacturers, and vendors.  

  • Collaborate with in-house design, marketing, and operations team to clearly define project goals, requirements, and vision. 

  • Review all design and construction documents including drawings, specifications, RFI responses, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure design and operations compliance.  

  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure conformance with contract documents, quality expectations, and project schedule. 

  • Memorialize project evolution and milestones, regular meeting agendas, meeting notes, and memorandums. 

  • Resolves complex construction project-related issues, disputes, and disagreements.  

  • Manages and executes the design and construction of 2 to 3 projects simultaneously, ranging in construction value and complexity from $7M to $25M each. 

  • Travels to project sites as assigned. Projects will be located all over the country and may require multiple days per visit.  

  • All other duties as assigned.  

 Competencies & Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years in management of multiple design and construction projects. Experience with fitness, hospitality, or retail construction projects preferred.   

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Construction Management is preferred. 

  • Must have experience with building Tenant Improvement. 

  • Architectural experience to direct the Design Team is preferred. 

  • Must be a problem solver who is able to navigate new projects and assignments.  Must be able to manage multiple tasks and have exceptional follow-up skills. 

  • Ability to review and direct the designers to produce meticulous Construction Document Sets. 

  • Ability to read, understand, and comment on civil, structural, and MEP drawings.  

  • Must have proficiency in MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Bluebeam. 

  • Must be proactive and possess strong organization and prioritization skills. Must have a high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. 

  • Must have exceptional time-management skills and be able to execute tasks and responsibilities in an ever-changing environment.  

  • Must be flexible and reliable team player internally and externally. 

  • Must be able to think creatively and innovatively.   

  • Ability to travel to various fitness clubs, nation-wide, and support centers as needed.
