Corgan is the Worlds #1 Data Center Architect.  Our Data Centers Sector is grounded in evidence-based design and focused on providing the highest customer to our clients while pursuing their sustainability goals.  To date, we have 100s of sustainably guided data centers, including more than 25 data centers that have been certified LEED Platinum or Gold. 

We are currently looking for a Sustainability Lead to join the Data Centers Sector.  The Sustainability Lead will champion the Data Center Studio’s commitment to sustainability and will strengthen our overall commitment to corporate responsibility. This individual will be an advocate and educator for all sustainability initiatives within the Sector.  The Sustainability Lead will be a leader who is committed to the success of our clients and the collaboration with the project teams in the design of these high performing buildings.

While grounded in client service and collaboration, this person must have strong leadership, design, task management, presentation, and mentorship skills along with demonstrated success in the industry. The Sustainability Lead will have regular interaction with a variety of clients and should possess a flexible attitude and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

The Sustainability Lead will create, curate and ensure projects have the tools, resources, and strategies to maximize energy-efficiency and overall sustainability. This requires design-team communication and integration, development of project sustainable design goals, energy performance metrics, and the tracking of the overall integration of sustainable design goals through project completion.  The Sustainability Lead also supports the Data Centers Sector in pursuing third-party certifications by providing the administration of and guidance, education and QA/QC during the submission process where required. The Sustainability Lead will be responsible for LEED / BREAM assessments (as well as other sustainable initiatives (like carbon neutrality, etc), tracking ongoing progress, coordinating all details of the certification program working with Client sustainability managers to ensure the Project effort conforms to Client needs as well as conducting educational training and presentations both internally and externally.  

Other responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the Data Center Sector resource for sustainable design and environmental efforts by partnering with design teams to develop sustainability strategies within projects by providing, the research, guidance, collaboration, and support to meet built environment goals
  • Provide sustainability support, teaching, and consultation to ensure that corporate sustainable design programs, initiatives and related activities are executed successfully within the Data Centers Sector
  • Identify industry trends, best practices, and corporate sustainability risks as it relates to Data Centers Design
  • Participate in sustainability industry events, associations and serve as the Sector’s representative in community and network events related to sustainable design
  • Assist the Sector’s leadership in to maintain branding and sustainable design stance across the Sector.
  • Observe project design approach, when there is a sustainable element, to determine if sustainability goals are achieved.
  • Develop and distribute reports that outline historical design strategies and market sector energy reduction statistics to measure progress against Industry standards for energy reduction
  • Engage employees in sustainable design initiatives by creating sustainability resources.
  • Track and monitor project design and energy reduction methods to determine if goals are met against industry energy reduction standards


  • 5+ years of experience in the Architecture or Engineering industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Working knowledge of Industry-standard building performance
  • Professional Architect or Engineering registration is desirable, but not required.
  • LEED AP with Specialty; or other globally acknowledged accreditation programs or certifications
  • Knowledge of Industry standards and requirements related to energy reduction strategies of the built environment
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analysis skills
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of firm business practices and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and assess priorities effectively
  • Ability to work closely with multiple projects and teams
