Job Captain

Wirt Design Group (WDG) is a full-service architecture and design firm, founded in 1993, that has a varied portfolio of projects, including hospitality, multi-family, industrial, and commercial tenant improvement projects. Our office is located in the heart of DTLA at 617 W. 7th Street. We work with ambitious companies nationwide who want their spaces to empower and excite both their clients and employees.

Responsible for technical development, coordination, design development, and construction document phases of various sized projects. Ability to research and resolve, with the help of senior staff where needed, on technical, code, and agency approval issues. Must have the ability to direct and coordinate with consultants and be able to control and monitor activities related to the project technical documentation. Recognizes and anticipates code and regulatory compliance.


  •  Professional architecture or interior design degree from an accredited college or working toward certification (AIA, NCIDQ or CID).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience and have demonstrated design and technical acumen in production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural and interior design practice.
  • Experience in construction document production with building envelope detailing a plus.
  • Ability to perform a building code analysis, and have working knowledge of accessibility requirements.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and SketchUp.
  • Experience in commercial, hospitality, and/or institutional projects preferred.
  • Ability to suggest, listen, and discuss daily music selections.
