Our client is a multidisciplinary firm comprised of interior designers, architectural designers, environmental graphic designers, brand creators & digital designers collaborating to craft unique retail experiences. They create and translate brands across digital and physical touchpoints from strategy to implementation.  


In this position, the Architectural/Interior Designer will collaborate with and be an integral part of the Retail Experience Design Team, leading the development of the architectural and interior design with retail experience planning efforts for commercial projects - specifically banking and financial institutions. This includes performing all phases of the architectural design process from programming and conceptual design development thru to construction administration, assisting and participating in data gathering, visioning and implementation of the retail experience.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of commercial/store space planning and architectural detailing and possesses exceptional attention to detail. This position is remote but candidates must be located in the United States.


• Work with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, interior designers and graphic designers to design retail spaces that connect people to place for diverse client projects

• Lead conceptual and design development, provide direction to junior staff, and develop documentation for a variety of design projects including ground-up builds, major and minor renovations as well as interior refreshes

• Balance ideal experience with operational needs translating complex programming requirements into building massing and site/space planning while developing the retail experience

• Creates outstanding visual communications to demonstrate concepts in support of strategic development

• Document and develop design details and prepare design presentation packages

• Prepare design plans, elevations and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, finish plans, color plans, digital models and rendered views during the design process

• Serves as prime interface with the client and consultants with regard to design issues and presentation

• Performs research and compiles data as required by the project

• Sources architectural finishes, fixtures, furnishings and textiles

• Assists in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals, finish samples, shop drawings when necessary

• Utilizes past knowledge and experience to enhance the quality of design

• Coordinates the design team to ensure integrated and cohesive design

• Collaborates and communicates effectively and professionally with multidisciplinary team members

• Prepares deliverable outlines and directs team accordingly to ensure creative materials are delivered on a timely basis, always maintaining consistency and quality

• Ability to own, manage and execute multiple (5+) projects at a time

• Manages relevant contributors through the design process, including internal and external subject matter experts, and outside consultants

• Works within project schedules to prioritize tasks and coordinate the completion of documentation required from initial design phase through final project completion

• Partners with PM to coordinate schedule, team meetings and establish agendas

• Acts as SME to support and teach fellow studio members and ADR peers

• Understands other disciplines within the studio


• Professional degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture or Interior Design

• 3-5 Years of relevant experience in retail/commercial design

• Fluent knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic tools

• Knowledge of industry standards, research and application of building codes and specifications

• Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills

• Superior problem-solving skills and strategic/analytical thinking

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and direct team to meet tight deadlines

• Highly organized with the ability to breakdown each project into tasks, delegating where appropriate, while adhering to project timelines

• Highly motivated, proactive, self-starter who has a keen sense of urgency and follow through
