ABOUT POSITION 

The five essential responsibilities of this role are the following: 

1. BIM Quality Control: The BIM Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the production of accurate, detailed ArchiCAD models for technical and construction documentation. Please note: our studio leverages ArchiCAD primarily, and we are seeking an ArchiCAD BIM Specialist. 

2. Template Management: The BIM Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining studio-wide project templates, standards, keynotes, and BIM workflows for all project types. Responsibilities also include serving as an in-house resource to resolve ArchiCAD issues and to support the daily use of the BIM platform. 

3. BIM Training: The BIM Manager is responsible for instituting and managing in-office training sessions to increase studio ArchiCAD expertise for all new and existing team members. 

4. BIM Consultant Coordination: The BIM Manager is responsible for coordinating consultants, specification writers and regulatory agencies to ensure BIM models meet standard of care/expectations. 

5. Design & Documentation: The BIM Manager shall still contribute to the collaborate design and documentation process on a handful of select projects from Concept through Construction Administration.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

• 5-15 years of experience in high-end residential, commercial, and interiors projects at all phases of the project life cycle 

• Deep expertise in ArchiCAD required 

• Mastery of other BIM applications preferred 

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Architecture preferred 

• Licensed Architect preferred, but not required 

• Deep expertise in construction documentation 

• The ability to visually communicate design through drawings, diagrams, and details with expertise and precision 

• Experience leading teams 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong leadership and self-motivation 

• Excellent delegation skills 

• Highly skilled technically 

• High level of intrinsic design competence 

• Experience with assembling highly complex drawings sets 

• Good awareness of design, industry trends, materials, and the aptitude to translate these ideas 

• Punctual & organized 

• Knowledge of California Building Codes
