We founded Henrybuilt in 2001 to bring a new level of design, integrity and fit to the places that are most important in the home. We’ve developed a family of inter-related, highly refined products that our design team carefully tailors to how people live. Our systems, together with our design service, combine hand crafted beauty with years of focused innovation – resulting in an industrially engineered product that is adaptable to a range of tastes and reflects and adds to the architectural quality of a space.

Henrybuilt is currently seeking a Design Engineer for our NYC office.

You will be collaborating directly with the Vice President of Design on both client projects and special projects within the company. Henrybuilt’s design solutions are technically and aesthetically advanced therefore we utilize a variety of technology-based tools to move our design process forward. Currently, the Henrybuilt design group is collaborating with Symbolic Frameworks, a software company incubated inside Henrybuilt, on the development of a graphic and software driven approach to our design process. The Design Engineer will have an opportunity to directly contribute to that project via cross-team work while experimenting with it live on active projects.
Responsibilities will encompass aspects of the entire design process and will involve participating in the development of graphic approaches to the work that involve client facing design and documentation standards. You should have exceptional technical abilities, an eye for detail, and are highly organized in order to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in a professional environment. We seek someone with a high level of proficiency with digital design software (AutoCAD, Adobe, Sketchup) and a strong desire to learn new tech. A candidate must demonstrate, through references and a portfolio, a consistent ability to communicate succinctly; follow through on responsibilities; and meet deadlines. A bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design – or an associated design computing or engineering field – is required.

We are seeking individuals that have demonstrated exceptional drive to succeed and share a keen interest in working as part of a team to build a top tier brand.
