Echelon ARCH + DESIGN is hiring a senior architect to join our expanding team and serve as project lead architect overseeing daily operations of our Pittsburg, Kansas office. A fun, fast-paced boutique firm with a strong reputation for delivering excellent results to our clients.
With offices in Independence, Kansas and Pittsburg, Kansas, we have over 25 years of experience in projects that range from Residential, Civic/Government, Healthcare, Education and Spiritual.  10+ years of professional experience
 Master’s degree in architecture from an accredited college or university
 License preferred, but not required
 Background in working on high-quality, design-oriented, and fast-paced projects
 High technical and detailing skills
 Excellent leadership and communication skills
 Proficient in Revit, CAD and Enscape a bonus
 Residential and commercial experience
 Able to manage multiple projects at one time
 Strong teamworking capabilities and able to supervise other team employees
 Experience in construction administration and interacting with governing agencies, and building codes
 Advanced understanding of construction assemblies and best practices
 Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and architectural judgment in developing architectural solutions
Team Leadership/Project Management
 Oversee multiple projects and teams simultaneously and utilize project management software to track project schedules and task status
 Lead and assign project team responsibilities and ensure team members are meeting deadlines and key deliverables
 Manages project through Construction Administration phase responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, issuing RFPs, and reviewing pay applications
 Manage design projects from concept development through to construction
 Actively manage project budgets, adhering to budgets and timelines.
 Participate in project meetings and document discussions and quality assurance/quality control review sessions at project milestones
 Travel to and visit project construction sites to observe construction progress and compose field reports. (Site visits may require travel involving both day trips and some overnight stays to out of town project locations)
 Prepare drawings, blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
 Research and select building products and compose written specifications
 Adjust designs and plans to meet the client's needs
 Review architectural drawings for federal state and local code compliance
 Research and maintaining knowledge of various engineering disciplines, application methods, and materials
 Develop and present project proposals
 Coordinate with consultants and other disciplines
Client Management
 Meet with clients and determine their needs and requirements.
 Liaise with clients to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner, and that project requirements are met
 Prepare project update reports and presentations for client meetings
Mentorship/Community Presence
 Ensure the Echelon ARCH + DESIGN team works together to achieve set goals and targets and meets all deadlines
 Actively support strategic goals of the firm, department, and manager, as well as understands how your actions contribute to them
 Monitor the work of other team members and make recommendations or scheduling workshops as required
 Act as a mentor to new team members and help them fine-tune their design skills and improve their industry knowledge
 Represent Echelon Arch + Design at community networking functions and consult with various industry professionals
 Position is full time, located in Pittsburg, Kansas office. Generous relocation package is included in compensation package.
