GFF is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture to join our growing Dallas office. Our ideal Director of Landscape Architecture desires to participate in crafting an environment with other landscape architects who value creating memorable spaces emphasizing innovative design and sustainability.

As Director of Landscape Architecture, your primary responsibilities include collaborating, identifying, and mentoring the design talents of our Landscape Studio. You will provide the leadership necessary for our Landscape Practice to excel in the areas of design, management, technology, and service and to expand it through your business development efforts.

Experience:

  • 10-15+ years’ experience
  • A Professional Degree from an accredited university (B.S. in Landscape Architecture, B. Landscape Architecture, or M. Landscape Architecture preferred)
  • Professional registration in Texas required with at least four years of experience supervising personnel
  • ASLA credentials and active participation therein preferred
  • Advanced working knowledge of both public and private sector projects, materials, systems and technical detailing
  • Experience in all design/construction phases
  • Experience in coordination of consultant engineering work required (civil, structural, MEP)
  • AutoCAD, Architectural Desktop (ADT), Microsoft Office Suite and Photoshop required
  • Experience with SketchUp and / or other 3-D rendering software preferred
  • Passionate about working collaboratively with others and empowering others to use their talents

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Managing our Landscape Studio including day to day operations, scheduling, reviewing timesheets, and continuously engage with your Studio and GFF’s overall culture
  • Participates in client contact, business development, proposal development and contract negotiations
  • Responsible for meeting project schedules and budgets across all design/construction phases
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills for multiple project assignments
  • Assist firm leaders and marketing director in identifying trends and business opportunities
  • Identifying Landscape Architecture candidates and participating in interviews
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Working knowledge of standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) required
