Selldorf Architects is an international architecture and interior design firm based in New York City in Union Square.  The firm’s interiors portfolio encompasses high-end residential, office, institutions and hospitality projects.

We are seeking an experienced interior designer with 5 or more years’ experience for a full-time position who thrives both in a team setting and individually. The interior designer will design and manage multiple projects and is responsible for sourcing, ordering, creating digital images, generating proposals, purchase orders, specifications and invoices, ensuring client presentations are properly prepared and executed, and more. The ideal candidate is someone comfortable and professional in client-facing interactions and shows initiative and creativity in daily responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to design and manage multiple projects, in a dedicated environment.
  • Design and propose suitable interior schemes and ideas for residential, commercial and hospitality projects.
  • Design furniture layouts and select all furniture and fabric items for internal and client approval.
  • Enter all purchase proposals and orders, (using Studio Designer software), provide project reports following the order from start to install.
  • Generate shop drawings, purchase orders and invoices for custom-made furniture
  • Develop furniture budgets for interior design projects.
  • Coordinate and supervise deliveries to clients and oversee installations
  • Work with FF&E procurement agents for commercial projects.
  • Work with Vica by Annabelle Selldorf, our associated hardware and furniture company, to ensure appropriate integration of the product line within projects.

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline required.
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience in Interior Design
  • A design sensibility commensurate with the development of sophisticated interiors
  • A strong business and management acumen
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment, yet independently
  • Solid conceptual and design process skills and good problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using AutoCAD is required. Experience using 3-D modeling programs such as Revit and Rhino is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Studio Designer software necessary.
  • Strong communications and organization skills
