PKSB is a small full service Architectural firm established in 1968 with a strong presence in New York City. Our current projects include New Schools, School Additions, Private Home Renovations, New Multi-Family Residential Buildings, Lobby Renovations, Renovations to  Historic Commercial Buildings, and Renovations to Athletic Field Facilities. PKSB is seeking Architectural Staff (Level I-II: 3-8 years) 

 Under the supervision of a PKSB Principal, the candidate will:

  • Review PKSB completed project precedent file and chart a similar path for new project presentations and submissions for new and projects in process. Recommend unique project solutions based on Partner input, precedent, context, good building practice, and the Owner's project goals.
  • Assemble presentations and submissions to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission and the NYC Department of Buildings for work on existing historic buildings in local historic districts. 
  • Coordinate with the Partner in Charge on technical issues and any engineering project consultants.
  • Monitor construction activities, occasional site visits, review construction submittals. Assemble materials to respond to City Agency questions and contractor questions through the process.
  • Integrate into our office and learn about other projects in the office and grow as an Architect.

This position requires a love of NYC, some historic research, a love of creating drawings that tell a clear story and delineate the design in an efficient manner, proficiency in Autodesk Revit and / or AutoCAD software, familiarity with other 3D modeling (ie SketchUp) and rendering software and plug-in rendering tools (ie: Enscape)
