Summary: Waller Design is searching for a Draftsman with proficient experience in Revit & AutoCAD within the event industry. This Draftsman be working on the biggest event projects in the country. This individual will report to the Project Director and BIM / Design Manager of the company. The Draftsman will design and deliver drawings for the Design department daily.

Responsibilities

  • Adjust and manage project drawing files.
  • Update and adjust all drawings based on requests from drawings.
  • Liaise with clients to draft all required floor plans.
  • Execute CAD designs based on the client specifications. This includes, interior, exterior floor plans, site plans and overlays
  • Provide accurate counts of all assets within the drawing.
  • Create and deliver all necessary take off documents required for suppliers and contractors
  • Create detailed floor plans and overlays based on client and project specifications.
  • Create detailed site plans of large festivals, concerts, tours and sporting events.
  • Collaborate with BIM / Design Manager to keep all event drawings updated.  
  • Distribute all required drawings to clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.
  • Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Design diagrams, maps, and layouts to illustrate workflow.
  • Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the project management team to develop a design.
  • Identify potential operational issues and redesign areas to improve functionality.
  • Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards.
  • Follow existing company drawings standards and templates
  • Create and deliver all necessary construction documents needed for contractors and suppliers to execute their scope and build.
  • Maintain and update company drawing library on a weekly basis.

Requirements and abilities:

  • AutoCAD Certified Professional – Required
  • Revit Certified Professional – Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet
  • Knowledge on all NFPA code and standards
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Working under high pressure situations
  • Ability to manage and oversee all staff
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and precise.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering or Similar field
  • Exceptional ability to communicate
