Summary: Waller Design is searching for a dedicated, passionate, skillful and energetic BIM / Design Manager to join our design team. This BIM / Design Manager will be working on the biggest event projects in the country. This individual will report to the Principal and Project Director of the company. The BIM / Design Manager will oversee and manage the Design department daily.

Job Description

  • Creating a design brief based on the client’s needs and desired result
  • Ensuring that designs meet client specifications, industry standards, and legal requirements
  • Execute CAD designs based on the client specifications. This includes, interior, exterior floor plans, site plans and overlays.
  • Create detailed floor plans and overlays based on client and project specifications.
  • Create detailed site plans of large festivals, concerts, tours and sporting events.
  • Managing other designers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner
  • Managing client relationships and serving as a liaison between designers and clients
  • Providing feedback on design ideas to improve them or identifying problems with them that need to be resolved
  • Assigning tasks to designers based on their skill sets and ensuring that they are completed satisfactorily
  • Supervising the design and execution of all changes and requests from the client
  • Establishing and maintaining design standards for company use
  • Reviewing designs for accuracy and appropriateness, identifying problems with them, and suggesting changes
  • Selecting, or having input into the selection of, specialist subcontractors or other organizations that will help complete the project work.
  • Advising on the selection of materials used and other aspects of procurement
  • Managing processes relating to the project’s design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule and budget, working very closely with estimators, quantity, surveyors, site managers and other key members of the project team
  • Oversee the organization of all drawings received from suppliers throughout the project
  • Create and deliver all necessary construction documents needed for contractors and suppliers to execute their scope and build.

Requirements and abilities:

  • AutoCAD Certified Professional – Required
  • Revit Certified Professional – Required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet, CoConstruct and Primavera P6 – Recommended
  • Knowledge on all NFPA code and standards
  • Ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Working under high pressure situations
  • Ability to manage and oversee all staff
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and precise.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering or Similar field
  • Exceptional ability to communicate
