INTERMEDIATE ARCHITECT

Davis Architecture Studio (formerly Ascher Davis Architects) is a boutique New York City architecture and interior design firm. Specializing in residential architecture in and around the NYC area, with numerous projects farther afield, the firm also has maintained a strong commercial and corporate presence for more than 22 years.

We focus on the highest level of client-driven, technically proficient design, and we collaborate with some of the best NYC consultants, contractors, and vendors. We work in small teams from initial conceptual design through construction administration, providing an ideal environment for candidates to learn, to grow, and to develop skills and knowledge in the field. Experience will include production work, as well as materials research and sourcing, client contact, DOB filings, field work, and exposure to all aspects of the design and construction process. A successful applicant’s qualifications will include:

• A professional degree in architecture from a NAAB accredited school (B. Arch or M. Arch)
• 3-5 + years of work experience
• Strong computer production skills with at least: Autocad, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup / Rhino / 3DMax / Vray are a plus
• Strong design background with good and developing research, technical, and detailing skills
• Strong interest in drawing quality and a meticulous eye toward presentation
• Working knowledge of NYC codes and NYC DOB filing processes (to be able to communicate with expeditors)
• Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivation and ability to work collaboratively both in the office and remotely, ability to multi-task among multiple projects, with leadership potential a plus
• Eligibility to work in the United States
