Development Company seeks Interior Design and Development Planner to assist VP Planning & Development on all assigned projects to completion, including coordinating external consulting teams in a fast-paced environment on commercial & residential projects. The ideal candidate’s portfolio should include high-end custom homes & commercial interiors. The right candidate will be proficient in planning, interior design management, and construction coordination as needed.  

Interior Design:

  • Advanced in concepts/ design/ and furniture order coordination. Advanced knowledge of design trends & foundations of interior design. 
  • Advanced knowledge of showrooms, vendors, and the latest high-end furniture & lighting designs offered in the industry.
  • Oversee FF&E specifications of all soft and hard materials/finishes, project schedules, and coordination of shipments.
  • Propose, furnishings, and design materials (surfaces, textiles, flooring, paint, lighting, etc.)

Project Management:

  • Organize and maintain project documents and materials
  • Design and manage the specification and procurement of FF&E
  • Facilitate the design, engineering and documentation process with architects, engineers, designers, and other external service providers, reviewing their work for accuracy
  • Assist in preparing construction documents and specification packages for bid, permit and construction
  • Assist the Construction Team during construction by reviewing RFIs and submittals when necessary
  • Manage all FF&E (Fixtures, Furniture and Equipment) standards, including sourcing, budgeting, purchasing, and warehousing

Qualified Education/Experience:

  • BFA in Interior Design. Minimum 5-7 Years work experience.
  • Technical understanding of architectural drawings and specifications
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously at various stages of the design and construction process, meet multiple deadlines, and work under pressure. Current knowledge of industry trends in residential and commercial design including fixtures, furniture, and finishes
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment.  Effective time management and organizational skills.  Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.  High level of detail orientation and analytical skills for independent problem-solving.  Ability to multitask; meet deadlines and is eager to grow with the company. 
  • Must be proficient in computer use and computer-aided design software. Specific expertise in the following programs is required: Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Professional programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
