INTERMEDIATE Architectural DESIGNER / project architect

Internationally renowned Architecture & Interior Design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates is seekingan Intermediate Architectural Designer and Revit coordinator with construction coordination experience. Ideal candidate would have 5-8 years of experience in design, BIM project team leadership/management, and understanding of construction. Our mid-size studio designs a variety of hospitality, residential, boutique retail/commercial and exhibition installations domestically and internationally. A candidate should possess a strong conceptual design sensibility with the knowledge to take a project from concept to construction documents and construction coordination. Good communication and organization skills, collaboration experience, and conflict resolution skills are necessary. Proficiency in Revit is a must.  Architectural License and/or Proficiency in Vectorworks are a plus.

 Position Responsibilities:

• Revit BIM manager developing/managing BIM related content
• Coordinating BIM model with consultants
• Support the design team on BIM related office standards and troubleshoot BIM related issues
• Develop, review and interpret drawings from schematic design to construction documents and specifications
• Check for code compliance, coordinate with consultants/contractors, and develop construction details
• Process, review and answer requests for information and submittals including structural steel and mechanical ductwork shop drawings
• Resolve problems which arise on the jobsite, formulate recommendations based on consultation with studio leadership, and consult client/owner on all issues related to the project.
• Participate in regular progress meetings; write meeting minutes and track issues
• Maintain RFI, ASI and submittal logs
• Maintain design intent of the project and the project’s goals for successful implementation
• Maintains as backup to the Project Manager, direct contact with clients
• Possesses working knowledge of best practice standards and expectations
