Intermediate Interior Designer

Internationally renowned Architecture & Interior Design firm Gabellini Sheppard Associates is seeking a full-time intermediate designer with 3 to 5 years experience, preferably with hospitality design experience. The candidate is a well-rounded, creative and self-initiative team player who has the ability and experience to work from the concept phase through execution and installation. This 30-person studio specializes in hi-end hospitality, residential (private & condominium) and retail projects. You are the ideal candidate if you are thorough, organized and flexible and comfortable with juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. A sharp design eye balanced with a solid technical foundation and good comprehension of colors, textures and finishes is essential.

Experience in all phases is preferred as well as in shop drawing review of millwork and custom furniture.


·Assist, collaborate and initiate design ideas with the project team. 

·Work directly with design partners/ senior staff to develop programming documents, space plans and design concepts.

·Prepare presentation documents & drawings during concept and schematic design phases. 

·Develop materials & finish palettes for presentations through research, selection, and specification of materials and finishes.

·Prepare drawings during design development and construction documentation phases. 

·Source FF&E, prepare specifications and purchase orders. 

·Review submittals and shop drawings.  

·interacting with various consultants on projects, such as Lighting and AV. 


·Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture.

·Well-developed written and oral communication skills required (in English).

·Ability to communicate, and present design concepts within the internal team and to outside parties.

·Current knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings and trade sources; including industry standards for selection, procurement, and installation management of such items.

·Working knowledge/ general understanding of industry standards, construction means and methods, and technical systems at large.

·Experience required in sourcing and documenting FF&E design and selection & documentation of interior architectural finishes.

·Knowledge of custom millwork and furniture details a plus. 

·CAD proficiency (VectorWorks a plus), Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Microsoft Office required.

·Spexx a plus.

·Proficiency with Revit, Sketch-Up, 3D Max or V-Ray is a plus.
