Description - Corporate BIM Manager
The Corporate BIM Manager's role is to understand how BIM will affect
project workflows throughout PBK. The primary responsibility is to
manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation and
enforcement on all related BIM projects, files and models across all of
PBK's offices. The Manager will perform all essential functions and
responsibilities in accordance with the PBK's values and commitment to
client service.
Responsibilities
General:
- Oversee BIM software firm-wide, including installation,
configuration, maintenance and support for all BIM installations as well
as analysis to solve BIM user issues.
- Provide end-user training, support and leadership.
- Manage and create content library files and templates, creating and enforcing standards and evaluating project models.
- Manage, analyze, and integrate process and improvement. considerations from Revit committee, groups, and individuals.
Standards:
- Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation and enforcement.
- Create, manage and maintain software template files. Responsible for rolling out template updates firm-wide.
- Ensure effective collaboration and standardization between all offices.
- Lead internal and external discipline/office BIM leaders to common goals and efficient processes.
- Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions.
- Automate routines in BIM to support standards and efficient productivity.
Training:
- Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of BIM Specialists to
ensure BIM standards are maintained during the creation of BIM models.
- Provide fundamental and intermediate training to PBK staff on all
BIM software. This will require traveling to all offices regularly.
- Conduct continuing education on BIM processes and its new technologies.
- Provide technical orientation to new hires regarding BIM tools.
Project Interface:
- Assist project teams in BIM project setup.
- Create Revit families in response to project need.
- Assist in solving major BIM modeling challenges and specific tasks with users of varied levels of work experience.
- Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team.
- Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT.
- Communicate with engineers to receive, coordinate and update all electronic models.
- Link BIM to the project construction administration phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules.
- Assist on project work modeling and detailing.
Software:
- Manage software products including, but not limited to,
incorporating new version releases, maintaining legacy software and
customizing software for specific firm needs.
- Manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM.
- Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies.
- Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit Architecture, AutoCAD and BIM.
- Stay informed on other BIM related software and how they work with Revit.
- Install and provide support of related BIM software.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or other appropriate 4-year technical degree.
- 5+ years' experience in design, drafting or engineering production plus BIM management in an A/E/C firm.
- Superior in-depth working knowledge of Revit, good knowledge of AutoCAD, and a skilled user of digital technology tools.
- Must understand the practice of architecture, project delivery and construction methods.
- Must be a self-starter and possess the drive to pursue continued education on BIM and related technologies.
- Passion for design technologies and skilled in the development of technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness.
- Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold
company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and
others.
- Extremely service oriented and highly approachable with commitment to helping others.
- Good interpersonal skills and very comfortable and effective working with others in a team environment.
- Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Interoffice travel and conference and seminar attendance may be required.
