SGVA is looking for a junior -level architect/designer to join its practice in Brooklyn NY. The firm seeks to hire a full-time architect/designer to help develop and execute architectural design through all project phases in support of our growing architectural practice. The ideal candidate is energetic, talented and organized with 1-5 years of previous experience, who enjoys working in a creative environment on a range of project scales and types. Strong rendering and modeling skills and proficiency in BIM are required. Passive House and/or LEED accreditation are a plus.   

Responsibilities include:

—     Work with principals, associates and other team members on detail-oriented projects, including private residential, larger multi-family buildings and institutional projects

—     Understand client and end user needs to help develop design concepts at the direction of the principals and project architects

—     Work on all phases of the design/documentation process

—     Produce client presentations

—     Help develop, model and render design concepts


—     Professional Degree (B.Arch or M.Arch)

—     One to five years of relevant work experience

—     Strong proficiency in recent versions of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office programs, as well BIM (Revit).

—     Strong skills in computer modeling and rendering across multiple software platforms

—     Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time with excellent organizational and communications skills

—     Knowledge of and passion for contemporary architecture and design culture

—     Excellent multi-tasking and detailed organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure

—     Dependability, professionalism and a positive attitude are a must

—     Fluent English speaker

—     Eligible to work in the U.S. immediately -- candidates must be US citizens or hold a current US work visa that is valid for a minimum of one year

—     Currently living in NYC area
