SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, hands-on project architect with substantial construction experience and a sophisticated design sensibility to execute the design intent of San Francisco assets in the SHVO portfolio with an emphatic quality construction focus.
This position requires the ability to work well in a dynamic, fast paced, high growth environment and will be dedicated to work on the construction site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Dedicated construction site focus
Work closely with SHVO development, design, and construction teams to plan, design, and execute the project’s vision
Perform daily on-site walk-throughs to ensure contract performance and quality control
Manage consultant compliance with project objectives
Comprehensive drawing set review
Monitor the production of design drawings to ensure all relevant construction information is included and coordinated
Review and comment on RFIs, submittals and shop drawings
Provide a weekly submittals/RFI and deficiencies log to document project delivery
Coordinate mockups, material sample review, documentation, organization
Coordinate closely with construction department during construction to
ensure the property is built on time and on budget
Participate in weekly AOC, design, and site meetings throughout the life
of the project
Identify, manage, and resolve design related issues during construction
Establish agendas for design meetings, track action steps and
administer follow up
QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive construction/field, and on-site administration, experience
Knowledge of building systems – structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.
Strong project management skills, results-driven, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Knowledge of construction sequencing, materials, and methods
Familiarity with sophisticated consultants
Must be capable of putting together a tight set of construction documents and ensure drawings are thorough and coordinated
Experience reviewing shop drawings (complex FF&E, millwork experience in particular)
Proven successful track record in delivering high-end exteriors and interiors
Familiarity in building, energy and disability codes/requirements
Highly developed aesthetic sense combined with the ability
to efficiently execute
Ability to improvise during construction as mandated by value
engineering and field conditions
Willingness to initiate tasks and perform duties with little supervision
Highly organized and comfortable working on multiple parallel
accelerated tracks
Commitment to execute timely delivery
TECHNICAL SKILLS
AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Revit
Construction Management systems (Newforma, BuildFlow, etc.)
Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
Adobe Creative Suite
Smartsheets
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (Major or Concentration in Architecture/ Interior Design)
Six years minimum design and construction experience
