Granular Studio is a multidisciplinary creative practice with focus on spatial and product design. We work on a variety of projects including architectural design, furniture & product design, and fabrication projects. We partner with a wide range of collaborators from architectural offices, designers, and fabricators.

We are looking for an architectural / production designer to join our team at our Los Angeles studio. This position requires a well-rounded, fast learning, and creative individual who can assist on a wide variety of projects. The designer will be working in a multidisciplinary environment  and participate in architectural projects as well as production and fabrication projects at our shop in downtown LA. 

What will you do:

  • Undertake concept design, and create and develop schematic drawings for architectural projects.
  • Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to meet overall project objectives and deadlines
  • Produce 3D models and renderings
  • Develop shop and fabrication drawings 
  • Setup and run CNC files
  • Provide assistance at the shop for various fabrication processes
  • Pick up and deliver materials and products


  • Proficiency in Rhino 
  • Proficiency in Enscape, Vray, or other rendering software.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience with in AutoCAD
  • Experience with architectural projects
  • Experience with woodworking and shop tools
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes
  • Access to a vehicle for running errands
  • Availability for 24-40hrs / week  
  • Must be located in Los Angeles
  • Must be eligible to work in the US

Preferred but not required skills:

  • Experience with mold making and casting (concrete, plaster, ceramics)
  • Welding
  • Experience with CNC / Laser cutters operations
  • 3D Printing
  • Graphic Design


  • $20-25hr based on skill and experience
  • Flexible hours
  • Position available immediately
