CallisonRTKL Architects P.C. seeks a Project Architect with extensive project delivery experience to join its Retail practice located in New York City. This position is focused on providing conceptual design and full technical support on specialty and luxury retail projects for notable brands across the globe. This individual will act as a resource to the project designer as the project team moves through preliminary design, schematic design and design development.

Responsibilities

  • Understands all phases of design documentation and construction
  • Plans, coordinates, and manages the project development process
  • Manages and mentors staff for design quality, technical detailing, and presentations
  • Represents the project or practice as a key contact for client interaction
  • Negotiates critical and controversial issues with appropriate parties
  • Coordinates and collaborates with other lead professionals to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations
  • Responsible for production of construction documents with a strong sensitivity to design and technical detail
  • Directs technical phases of work using Revit while mentoring less experienced staff
  • Serves as a key contributor during client meetings and presentations
  • Leads CD effort using Revit
  • Manages project financials for assigned projects

 Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Background in base building and retail interiors preferred
  • Ability to produce and direct work
  • Strong technical background
  • Revit proficient throughout conceptual, schematic, design, and construction phases
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all clients and employees
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Professional registration preferred
