Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture (HPA) is an architecture, planning and interior design firm that practices nationally from our Near North Side studio. Named AIA Chicago’s 2018 Firm of the Year, HPA delivers multi-use commercial, multi-family residential and hospitality projects that share a common sensibility toward placemaking.
We have a job opportunity for a BIM Manager who will be accountable for coordinating the integration and implementation of Revit on design projects, and serve as a technical guide and resource for project teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and oversee the implementation of Revit standards, templates and workflow documents
Create and manage office-wide and project-specific content
Work within project teams on modeling, deliverables, and quality control
Organize and cleanup existing Revit content
Further develop and maintain Revit family content library, Revit detail library and Revit training manual
Support project startup, including model setup and coordination with external collaborators
Support project teams with preparation of Revit-generated presentation renderings
Provide day-to-day support for approximately 55 Revit users
Develop and provide training for new users, advanced training for existing users, and encourage an environment of continual learning
Stay informed on the state of the art in software and hardware advancements through self-guided research, networking and conferences
Provide periodic reports to firm management on industry trends
Work closely with the IT management to evaluate hardware and software budgets, licensing, and purchasing, coordinate software deployment, and training efforts
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3 years in a BIM leadership role in a professional architecture or planning environment
Revit Architecture Certification is preferred but not required
Demonstrated expertise in Revit modeling, management, and standards
Strong teaching and coaching abilities
Good understanding of the practice of architecture, project delivery, and construction methods
Passion for a high level of design and presentation quality
Architectural training is preferred but not required
