INTERSTICE Architects is looking for a Project Designer with 3+ years of experience to join our interdisciplinary Architectural Practice. Qualifications and Skills:  

  • 3 or more years of experience working in an architecture office, designing and managing of highly customized design focused projects.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage, motivate and lead a project team.
  • Strong design and ideation ability as representative in sketches, renderings or other means.
  • Proficiency with BIM software (Revit strongly preferred). 
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Knowledge of green building technologies, products and net-zero design strategies.
  • Experience and/or interest in participating in business development and marketing activities.

Education:  

  • Bachelor Professional degree or Master Degree in Architecture from an accredited college, university or equivalent in education or experience.  

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  

  • Licensure preferred, or ARE started preferably in California. LEED AP certification encouraged.  

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Principles / project managers to design and participate in Drawing set management on one or more active projects, set-up project and establish project goals, and design direction with Project Partner, prepare work plan, and provide project focus and drafting and assess needs for extended team.
  • Manage document production by developing design and technical drawings, and research relevant information with team. 
  • Manage and prepare sketches and concepts with team, and develop project design with project partner and Design Principal.
  • Coordinate and help mange sub-consultants with help from Project Principal.
  • Provide technical expertise for effective detailing and constructability. 
  • Manage project schedule and budget to ensure profitability and completion on time.
  • Participate in some business development and marketing activities.
  • Conduct in-person meetings or work with consultants and contracting forces and site visits based on project needs.

  • We are working in-Studio at 1173 Sutter at Polk in the Polk Corridor Alleyways District.
