Blejer Architecture is a growing Architecture and Design firm in New Paltz, NY with projects in the Upstate NY region and NYC. We focus on modern residential projects that bring experience, craft and intelligent construction methods.

We are looking for experienced candidates who are passionate about design, dedicated to providing excellent work and are hands on and self-motivated to play an important role in the growing firm. Ideally, candidates are or can be local to the office and can work in a hybrid scenario or in office and work from home. 

Project Architect - This roll includes working on all phases of projects from SD to CA. Work involves developing details and construction methods, coordinating consulting engineers' work and communicating with clients and builders. Traveling to projects is required and driver's license / car is a plus.

Necessary skills include the following: Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture

• Minimum 4-6 years of professional office experience in custom residential or hospitality projects. 
• Comprehensive understanding of drawing sets, project phases and  construction assemblies
• Thorough understanding of NYS and NYC building codes and zoning regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp, Revit a plus
• Strong communication skills and excellent graphic representation skills
• Must be able to work in the US currently
• Must speak English fluently
• Driver's license / car a plus for site visits

Candidates must be able to demonstrate past experience in the following: 

• Production of drawings in various phases of a project 
• Participation in design, presentations and other graphic work for projects
• Communication with office principal, other team members, clients, consultants etc.
• Ability to work on CA, track construction progress, reply to RFIs, communicate with builders etc.
