Title: Project Architect / Designer

BLDGWORKS is looking for a designer/architect with 3-5 years of experience to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone that can design, produce and take responsibility for the coordination of projects. This person is highly self-motivated and enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment.

Our company, established in 2015, is a vertically integrated development, design, build firm working on both self-development projects and client-based work. Technology, collaboration, and integration are major drivers of our process, and our team works across disciplines to execute our designs.
This position is dedicated to our design arm, but you will be working in various stages of the process outside of the traditional architecture scope, including development feasibility and preconstruction services. We are also deploying new methods of construction, including panelization and mass timber systems.
In 3 months you will:
Work closely with our Chief Design Officer on several single-family and mixed-use projects across the US in the early phases of design.
Become familiar with our vertically integrated process and begin collaborating with our internal construction and development teams
Develop drawing sets and presentations for client meetings and planning board presentations
Learning the ins-and-outs of our panelization process
Work closely with our consultants to facilitate project realization
In 6 months you will:
Finalize preliminary drawing sets and carry them through construction documents
Hand projects off to our construction team for pricing and delivery
Start development feasibility analysis on new projects
Start construction administration
In 12 months you will:
Help punch list and sign off on the first set of projects
Work directly with our development and construction arms on various stages of project development
Help define project scope for our construction arm and subcontractors
Lead design production on new BLDGWORKS projects
Requirements:
An architecture degree (B.Arch or M.Arch, or non-professional architecture focused degree)
Strong knowledge of Revit, Rhino, Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Suite/Google Suite Products
Minimum 3 years of experience working in an architecture firm
Travel within the Northeast region of the US
Potential further domestic travel
Good-to-haves:
Experience in single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use design
Architecture license
Experience with Grasshopper and/or Dynamo
Experience in construction administration and/or construction management
Experience in real estate development or working with real estate developers on projects
Experience seeing a project through from concept through construction administration
Advanced knowledge of Revit
Working knowledge of Navisworks, BIM 360/Construction Cloud, or other fabrication software
Experience in digital fabrication
