Robert Young Architects is a small, fast-growing, award-winning architecture studio working out of a large sunny space by the Highline in West Chelsea. We are fortunate to be experiencing a period of growth and looking to manage that growth intelligently by adding to our strong leadership team. Our intention is to leverage this growth to achieve two primary objectives: 1) to continue to build an organization and culture centered around the team’s personal and collective professional development, and 2) to build great architecture that serves our clients and society. Understanding that the first objective is a prerequisite to the second, RYA is committed to becoming a learning organization. We invite candidates who are excited to be a part of this journey to apply for the position.

Our active projects are mostly residential, high end, design intensive, ground-up projects outside of NYC on the East End of Long Island, Connecticut, Upstate New York, Virginia and Washington DC.  We also have extensive experience with NYC apartments and lofts, art galleries, retail and commercial projects.

Robert Young Architects practices an architecture of pragmatic response. Creative exploration and thorough investigation of the essential facts and distinctive possibilities of each site and client’s needs lead to organic, apt, and inevitable solutions that are true to their time and place. Whether architecture, interior, furniture, object, or landscape, the firm guides every project from conception to completion with passion and commitment. Each design decision integrates aesthetic and contextual imperatives with those of budget, program, materials, technology, and construction techniques. Our mission is to create compelling, practical and original architecture for informed clients who care deeply about the spaces where they live, work, learn and play.

RYA has switched to a flexible work schedule, with the option to blend in-person collaborative time in the studio with work from home for focused "in the zone" work.
