MA|Architects, Inc. has a long-term opportunity in our Los Angeles area office for a Project Architect to support our expanding Healthcare portfolio for both Federal & Private sector projects. A willingness and desire to manage one or more projects simultaneously during schematic design through construction administration while understanding the need to nurture our junior staff for their growth to support our team. 


  • Initiative & team oriented
  • Possess an accredited degree in Architecture (Bachelor/Master’s Degree)
  • Licensed Architect (California preferred but not required)
  • 7-10 years of professional architectural experience
  • Familiarity with healthcare facilities (OSHPD/HCAI/Federal Sector)
  • Construction Administration experience
  • AutoCad and Revit proficient for production of design and support of construction document development
  • Ability & desire to lead multiple small projects ($100K - $2million).
  • Effectively coordinate with consultants
  • Attention to detail and strong research skills
  • Possess communication skills to articulate the design intent to staff, consultants, client & contractors
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite w/ working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Bluebeam

 Specific responsibilities will include: 

  • Assist with development & assessment of project scopes and design schedules.
  • Support the Field investigation of existing conditions and research of as-built documents.
  • Coordinate design work with the clients, internal team, design consultants, vendors, manufactures and regulatory agencies
  • Research building code and other project requirements
  • Work with regulatory agencies (HCAI or Federal Government) for project approval
  • Contributes to project’s technical design effort, subsequent detailed design development, project coordination and quality control efforts during all phases of project work
  • Support the Construction process, including shop drawing review, response to RFIs, job site observations, preparation of Change Order documents and Post Approvals Documents
